solve 4^-2

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

\[4^{-2} = \frac{1}{4^2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that's simplifies all of the way down or would it be 1/16? @Jhannybean

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

PRecisely.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

For any negative exponent can become positive by setting it over 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yikes it is not your fault, someone wrote "solve" but it is not an equality the word they were looking for was "compute"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it does not get "solved" nor does it get "simplified" it gets computed
