quick for a medal. the volume of a wooden block was calculated by measuring the length x width x height. (cm3). the mass was also measured using a scale. all these was used to find the density of the block. the block used was later said to be hollow. what error would this introduce into the density calculation

OpenStudy (dylangr1997):

density is the amount of matter in an object. if the object is hollow, there is a substantially lesser amount of matter inside of the object.

If you multiply length x width x height, you are also taking the empty space inside the wood block as it's volume. This will result in an over-estimation of the volume, and therefore your calculated density will be lower than the real density.
