Exponential Function help?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

Please try with this formula: \[y\left( x \right) = A{e^{ - Bx}}\] and use your data, in order to find the constants A and B

OpenStudy (annipuppi):

what values would I input?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think you have to input this values pairs: y(0) = 3500,namely x = 0 and y=3500 and: y(2) = 2000, namely x= 2 and y=2000

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

Since you have two unknown constants then the two conditions above are suffice, in order to find the values of A and B

OpenStudy (annipuppi):

I'm confused... so what would the function be?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

for example, if I set x= 0 and y = 3500, I get: \[3500 = A\] so A = 3500

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

whereas if I set x=2 and y=2000, I get: \[2000 = A{e^{ - 2B}} = 3500 \cdot {e^{ - 2B}}\] then, what is B?
