PLEASE HELP WILL FAN AND MEDAL AND TESTIMONY
Write each polynomial function in standard form, classify it by degree, and determine the end behavior of its graph. a. y=12-x^4
b. y = 2x^3 - 6x + 3x^2 - x^4 + 12
Just put it order of highest degree to lowest degree
a. for example is -x^4+12. And its 4th degree
I need to show all the work btw! :)
Now for the graph ask yourself what does the graph of an even function look like?
It would be symmetrical right?
yes but its a special shape. Do you know what x^2 looks like?
it's a symmetrical curve
I forget the name
quadratic. right?
It's called a parabola and x^4 is the same symmetrical curve but x^4 is thinner
yes! parabola. ah, okay so how would I answer that then?
Since in this case its negative x^4 it would be upside down
but what is the end behavior? what does that mean again?
-x^4+12; 4th degree; ??? I don't know what to write
End behavior is describing what happens as the ends of the functions go off to infinity
I'll see if i can find a video that explains it clearly
