Which of the following causes a feather to fall slower than a bowling ball. (1) Gravity (2) Rolling friction (3) Sliding friction (4) air resistance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say weight but that's not a choice.

@jagr2713

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

a feather is really light so what might stop it

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

The effects of air resistance of an object are to do with the relationship between the surface area and the mass of an object. While a bowling ball has a larger surface area than that of a feather, the ratio of surface are to mass is much more in favour of the surface area for the feather than for the bowling ball. This is why the bowling ball falls faster than the feather

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So air resistance

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

CORRECT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yaya Thanks!!!

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

anytime

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Medal for you!!! Lol
