Find the solution of this system of linear equations. Separate the x- and y-values with a comma. 4x + 8y =83 8x + 7y = 76 -8x – 16y = -166 8x + 7y = 76

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Do you know the elimination method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no clue what an elimination method is..

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

that makes it really hard to help you through this...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

we need to multiply one equation by something, so that when we add them, either x or y cancels out and we are left with 1 variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says "After multiplying, the x coefficients are additive inverses. Solving for y."

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

do you know what that means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i skipped it so its fine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you yet need any help regarding THIS question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
