A comet is approaching the earth. What happens to the earth's gravitational pull on the comet as the comet gets closer to the ground?

A. will remain constant
B. will be reversed
C. will increase
D. will decrease

Questions like these are tough sometimes unless worded perfectly but for the sake of this question, whenever a body gets closer to the surface of the Earth, the acceleration due to gravity increases. On the Earth's surface, the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8m/s...if you were on top of mount Everest, it would be a little less! :o) I would say your answer is correct! :o)
