Nicotine, a substance found in cigarettes, causes blood vessels to constrict. What effect might prolonged smoking have on the body? A. Decreased heart rate B.Decreased heart strength C.High blood pressure D. High blood volume

OpenStudy (somy):

the answer is in your question constricted means narrowed so if blood vessels narrowed whats gonna happen?

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

decrease?

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

is A correct??

OpenStudy (somy):

why heart rate would decrease? what makes u think so?

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

because from what I know smoking decreases your heart rate

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

its either A or B idk ;(

OpenStudy (somy):

let me give u example lets say there is a guy in your school that is chubby like very chubby and he needs to get to his classroom because he is running late but to get to class he has to pass through loooong corridor but that corridor is so narrow that he bearily fits in there so he struggles forcing himself to move forward to reach his classroom

OpenStudy (somy):

same is with that blood vessel what can u decide from this example?

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

Ohhhh! so Its B because he would need strength to go in through the door??

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

Omg Thanks! can I ask you more questions I need help with ?:(

OpenStudy (somy):

would he use same amount of force to go through corridor that is wider as that is when its narrower? does he feel same amount of pressure from walls of corridor when its wide as compared to when its narrow?

OpenStudy (somy):

its not about strength also think a bit more u are close

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

;0 then Idk :(

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

C?? cause you need high pressure / force to go in the door

OpenStudy (somy):

alright look imagine its u when u walk along a very narrow corridor do u feel high pressure from walls or low pressure?

OpenStudy (somy):

bingo! :)

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

Omg :) Thanks so much !

OpenStudy (somy):

no problem :) sorry this os app doesnt notify me when u reply =_= + it doesnt show replys as soon as u do reply #_# so it takes time ugh

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

A cardiologist suspects that a patient has a problem with either the valve between the left ventricle and the body or the valve between the right atrium and the right ventricle. What should the cardiologist do to test the valves in this order? A.Analyze the first heart sound only B.Analyze the second heart sound only C. Analyze the first heart sound and then the second heart sound D. Analyze the second heart sound and then the first heart sound

OpenStudy (somy):

this one is about systolic & diastolic pressure check out at which peek you hear first heart beat and then the second then think of whats gonna happen if any of cardiologist's assumptions is true

OpenStudy (kiiraa_x3):

I honestly have no idea..!
