1. How do the nutrients in soil become building materials for a plant to grow? The plant only keeps nutrients in its roots system. The plant only uses nutrients to grow flowers. The plant puts the nutrients on the leaf edges to make them bigger. The plant absorbs the nutrients into its cells and connects them together.
