coil the wire around the nail because giving the copper an iron core will increase the magnetic field :i took a electronics course in high school
@vlax is right. Coil around the nail. Since nails are made out of metal, which conduct electricity much better than the test tube or paper, it wins. Electricity and magnetism go hand in hand
