The private school function: f(t) = 18*t + 85 The public school function: g(t) = 15*t + 95 Do you agree @Sparklestaraa
If so, do you remember how to use the online graphing program Desmos?
If so, go there and graph y = 18*t + 85 and then y = 15*t + 95 on the same graph.
Yes i agree :) I remember
Go there and graph the two lines. Desmos.com Get the point of intersection of the two graphs by clicking the mouse foot on the point of intersection. Then, come back and post what the coordinates are or post the graph. Then, we will go to part C and get a wrap.
Wow, the lines are close. Were you able to see the point of intersection? Just a second.
kk :)
it looked like it had a dot already outlined so i pressed that dot :)
What were the coordinates that popped up and you pressed the mouse foot on the dot.
Oh, I see it. (3.33, 145)
(10/3, 145)
yes :)
whats 10/3, 145?
Those are the exact coordinates of the point of intersection. 10/3 = 3.33 approx
So, in 3.33 years (3 years and 4 months) after the two schools open in 2005, the two schools will have the same number of students.
Four months into the school year beginning in 2008, the two schools will both have an enrollment of 145 students. Do you think that is what the point of intersection means?
@Sparklestaraa
