Statistics help please?
@ganeshie8 i think the answer is the second picture (C) but i just wanted to get a second opinion, thanks!
C looks good !
ok thanks, i was debating between C and E because it seemed that both the first and second pictures in E had clusters but wasn't positive
i dont see clusters in first distribution in option E i could be wrong though... im just guessing
oh ok i saw one cluster in the first distribution in E 3rd and 5th from the left
what is a cluster exactly ?
im asking as i dont seem to find a satisficatory definition online..
This is what my textbook says but i don't know if that really helps at all: Distributions can have several other characteristics, like gaps, clusters, and outliers. Gaps in a distribution happen where there is a significant number of values with no observations. Clusters are groups of observations at similar values.
Okay then we're right option C has to be the only one with clusters we don't have clusters in first distribution in option E as it is skewed right... as there is a tail on right end and most data vales are on the left end
ok thanks!
this short video nicely explains clusters, gaps and peaks https://learnzillion.com/lessons/3264-identify-clusters-peaks-and-gaps-in-a-dot-plot
