Gah! hate vague math questions! Already have some data, wait 4 second post Class A Class B Class C 80 72 100 85 90 90 87 85 94 92 84 100 86 91 75 90 78 30 94 94 94 100 86 72 75 82 85 45 78 87 85 86 42 38 78 100 72 95 90 94 90 94 62 88 60 Explain how the values for Classes A and B vary about the mean and median. What information does this give Mrs. Smith?

@phi just so tired after all this....

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so with the mean being to the left of the meadian, you need to look at skewness... the Class B data has mean and median almost equal, so it would appear to be a symmetrical data set hope it helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all I need to know is how the mean and median vary and what it tells mrs smith, my brain is shutting down slowly after studying all day

-face desk- blaaaaaarghhh

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

here is a diagram that may help

OpenStudy (phi):

***all I need to know is how the mean and median vary and what it tells*** if the mean and median are close you the distribution is symmetric (not skewed left or right).
