Can 40/57 simplify?

If 40/57 simplifies, then the two numbers must have a common factor. I'll get the factors of 40 and then you can do those of 57.
40 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 5 57 =

Neither does 57 @abcdefghijklmq so how does that figure into solving this problem.

here is the answer: Fraction: 40 / 57 = (23 * 5) / (3 * 19) is already reduced (simplified) to lowest terms, numerator and denominator are co-prime numbers.
