OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Joel_the_boss

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jane11509

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Whitemonsterbunny17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Nnesha

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Do you know the basics?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know anythig :(

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Okay, we can help you. ^.^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thx!

OpenStudy (jane11509):

Okay first when doin latex always add \(\ < to the beginning and \) < to the end

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm ok

OpenStudy (jane11509):

oops i mean \(\ \)

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

`\(` to the beginning and `\)` to the end.

OpenStudy (jane11509):

Yes thank you lol ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok /(hi/)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Ground zero tutorial with videos: http://openstudy.com/updates/54594bade4b07e4474299fa5 (I show different ways to do the code in the videos)

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

The slashes go the other direction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wont work:(

OpenStudy (jane11509):

No like this \(\hi\)

OpenStudy (jane11509):

\ (\ \) <--- like that only without the space

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i make it big and with color? @e.mccormick

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Jane, you can user the \(\text{`}\) on the key with the ~ to comment out the code. Just put one before and after: `\(` tada!

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

@jane11509 , you can use ` to make the grey boxes.. `hello`

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Beat me to it ^ xD

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Plan, you use size commands for big: \large \Large \LARGE \huge \Huge You use the color comand for colors \color{red}{some text}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

/color{red}{hi}

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Put that together and I can do: `\(\Large\color{red}{some~text}\)` makes \(\Large\color{red}{some~text}\) Note the ~ became a space.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:l

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

\(\huge {\color{Red} C}{\color{Cyan} o}{\color{DarkOrange} o}{\color{Magenta} l}~~{\color{Pink} K}{\color{Purple} i}{\color{Red} d}{\color{Green} !}\) @PlanSlam

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Plan, see how mine starts with `\(` and ends with `\)` and all the special commands are between? That is what makes it work.

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

http://www.codecogs.com/latex/eqneditor.php I used this when I started \(\LaTeX\) and now I know most of the codes by \(\color{pink}{\heartsuit}\) :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

/(/huge {/color{blue}hi}/)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

You did the \ the wrong direction. It is the pne with the | not the ?.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

`\(\huge {\color{blue}hi}\)` would make \(\huge {\color{blue}hi}\) I think you want: `\(\huge\color{blue}{hi}\)` \(\huge\color{blue}{hi}\) \(\ddot\smile\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

{\color{Blue}hi }

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i forgot the /(

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

`\(`

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yah, that and `\)` around it. Getting closer!

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

yes on the key board its they key on top of the enter key. Well on my sony... idk about you guys :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\({\color{Blue}hi }/)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\({\color{Blue}hi}/)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Still did one slash wrong.

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

http://www.codecogs.com/latex/eqneditor.php Use this until you get the hang of it. That's how I began. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there a video to see?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Even with codecogs you need to add the start and end characters here. `$$\large Wheee!$$` $$\large Wheee!$$ Yes, there is video on that other post I linked.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

http://openstudy.com/updates/54594bade4b07e4474299fa5

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

no @e.mccormick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[gi\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YESSS!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thx!!! @e.mccormick and @Joel_the_boss ! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[{\color{Green} hi}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did it!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

It does not show that by default. You end up telling it that. And it does [ ], which is not good for inline. So you still end up needing to do it yourself one way or the other.

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

No problem \(\large \color{blue}{amigo}\)

OpenStudy (jane11509):

\(\Huge\color{VIOLET}{GREAT JOB!!!}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[No...\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i make it biger? @Joel_the_boss

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Put \Large in front. `\(\Large No...\)` \(\Large No...\)

OpenStudy (jane11509):

put huge or large

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i do it on http://www.codecogs.com/latex/eqneditor.php

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

It is right below the edit window. Where it lists the pt size.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\huge {\color{Blue} WELCOME.TO.OPESTUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait can anyone tell me how to do the box thing? i mean like typing the code itself without it changing

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

\(\text{`\\(`}\) makes `\(`. It uses the accent on the key that has the ~.
