Why do we have eyelashes?
Eyelashes protect the eye from debris and perform some of the same function as whiskers do on a cat or a mouse in the sense that they are sensitive to being touched, thus providing a warning that an object (such as an insect or dust mite) is near the eye (which then closes reflexively).
Eyelashes are meant to protect the eye so that dust and other particles are not hitting the eye. These like comment above also protects you through reaction what they forgot was that the nerves in your eye and face contribute to your brains reaction hence you blinking. The blinking also lets your eyes regain moisture to stay active.
Blinking does more than that. It also physically cleans the surface of your eye, washing off bacteria, spores, or anything else that may land on the eye itself.
Thank guys! :)
