OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's supposed to be option B protein because in animals, enzymes are the only biological catalyst that are made out of proteins (globular protein to be exact)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is not just animals. Enzymes are in all life. This is a very poor question because not all proteins are enzymes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mrdoldum I can clearly see your comment is directed towards my answer. And I know that enzymes are found in all organism. For example, RUBISCO is an enzyme found in plants and used in the process of the Calvin Cycle To turn CO2 to 3-Phosphoglycerate. And It is true not all enzymes are protein but majority ARE. This is a extremely generalized question and so you should obviously expect a generalized answer, because by the looks of it, the questioner will clearly not understand a single word I say if I were to explain it in greater details (more so like at a university level)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL YGO 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

OpenStudy (somy):

omg @KL-RC

OpenStudy (somy):

gyah! u r here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (somy):

@mrdoldum in addition to your comment, not all enzymes are protein based also :D @KL-RC gewd job there habeebty ( ˘ ³˘)❤ though he is right regarding enzymes being in all life (not just animals, tho i know u know about it & gave animals just as example hehe (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KL-RC No, it is not a very generalized question. It is a very specific question with a very poorly chosen set of answers. Also, my comment is not directed towards you. If it was, I would have directed it towards you, by name. My comment was a statement was meant to help decrease misunderstandings that a few people may have. I am confused why you are going on about not all enzymes being proteins when my statement was the opposite. I said that the answers available were not very clear because not all proteins are enzymes. The question implies that whatever the answer is, that entire type of macromolecule functions to speed up biological chemical reactions. @somy I know. Ribosomes are a very good example.

OpenStudy (somy):

hai hai lets stop right here @mrdoldum :3 thank uuuu :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mrdoldum it seems to be that we both misunderstood each other...I thought you were implying that not all enzyme are protein, while you thought that I said all proteins are enzyme. while I do not hold great knowledge in all the sorts of protein present in every single living organism therefore I thought you said not all enzyme are protein. But with my current knowledge I thought all proteins are enzyme, but when I read your comment, it contradicted with what I've been learning up until now (or so I thought) but now it turns out to be that I misunderstood you. while YOU thought I said all proteins are enzyme lol which I didn't. So I'm guessing you misunderstood me. anyways back to the point, I don't think this question is too specific, as a matter of fact it's quite generalized. If you're talking about the options well yeah they are utterly lame and stupid. if they kept the same exact question saying "Which of these organic molecules functions to help speed up biological chemical reactions?" and out of the four options I give two names of enzyme, example Enolase and Phosphoglycerate Mutase and another option saying Protein you can't possibly choose 2 or 3 options as an answer would you? and why is that? Because the question is GENERALIZED.
