Hi : ) how do you find the average rate of change for f(x) = x2 - 8x between x = 5 and x = 11?
would I plug in 5 then 11 and use the distance formula?
yes first you have to use that two x values to find f(x) which same as y
after that u have to use slope formula to find slope
I got -15 and 33 for the two f(x) values
yes right when substitute 5 u got -15 right so ( 5 , -15 ) and when u used 11 u got 33 so ( 11 , 33) now use slope formula to find slope
\[\huge\rm \frac{ y_2 -y_1 }{ x_2 - x_1 }\]formula
11/-30?
nvm i used 55 instead of -15
-11/10
nope that is not right
how did you substitute x and y values ??
33-11 and -15-5
nope that is not right in order pair first value is x and 2nd one is y \[\large\rm (x_1 , y_1) (x_2 , y_2)\]

perfect !!!!!!!
glad to work wth you :)
Thank you! You are a great help. ( :
