OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

Complete the equation for the linear function whose graph contains the points (−1, −2) and (3, 10). y + ? = ? (x + 1) i know the slope is 3

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

@shamim the first one is 3, right? but how do i find the second question mark?

Nnesha (nnesha):

nope first one is not 3

Nnesha (nnesha):

in order 1st value is x 2nd one is y \[\huge\rm (x_1 ,y_1) ( x_2 , y_2)\]

Nnesha (nnesha):

for 2nd question marks u have to use formula to find slope \[\huge\rm\frac{ y_2 -y_1}{ x_2 -x_1 }\] use that two order pair to find slope

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

for the first one i got 1/-7

Nnesha (nnesha):

nope first one is the y values form the order pair

Nnesha (nnesha):

|dw:1424356722056:dw|they already gave u x_1 which one is 1 so you know that they are using first order pair what is y in 1st order pair ??
