ok so from reading chapter 8 -.- whoo, Gatsby wasn't reading to be in any relationship so he mislead daisy into thinking that he wanted a good marriage. So when he goes to war and when it finishes he tries to go back quickly but is told to go to Oxford, daisy gets bored of waiting an marries Tom, He is confused so he tries to reassure himself that daisy still loves him.
