Please Help!!!!! I WILL FAN and MEDAL!!!!!! The vertices of a triangle are p(-7, -4) q(-7, -8) and r(3, -3). Name the vertices of of the image reflected across the line y = x. a) p(4, 7); q(8, 7); r(3, -3) b) p(4, -7); q(8, -7); r(3, 3) c) p(-4, -7); q(-8, -7); r(-3, 3) d) p(-4, 7); q(-8, 7); r(-3, -3)

OpenStudy (legends):

I would go with c not really sure tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh the word reflected is in it. That means it's mirrored i.e in reverse if I'm correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We can rule out C, because that's not a mirrored image of the triangle. (-4, -7) is not a mirror of (-7, -4) because the X and Y are on a completely different level.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking A but I'm not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-4,7) can't be a reflection either. which is D. (-4, -7) cannot be reflected to (-4,7) it's not logical.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm leaning onto A as well. Because C and D is incorrect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, well thank you! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was actually C @Jamal5337

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really? Sorry about that! I'm still going over the math right now!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A reflection would make the image upside down on the line

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

Please note that when you perform a reflection about the y=x line, you have to change x---> y and y---> x

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

namely the point (-7, -4) is mapped into point (-4, -7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*Face To Desk* Forgot about that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*Face To Desk* Forgot about that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking about flipping it from left-->right, not up-->down
