If s = 7 cm and t = 24 cm, what is the length of r? 25 cm 31 cm 38 cm 28 cm https://app148.studyisland.com/pics/192060pic1.png

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

please you have to apply the Theorem of Pitagora

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i do that?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

hint: what is: \[\sqrt {{7^2} + {{24}^2}} = \sqrt {49 + 576} = ...?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummm. i dont know what the lines above the numbers are

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

plese note that the Teorem of Pitagra states this: \[{r^2} = {s^2} + {t^2}\] so wecan write: \[r = \sqrt {{s^2} + {t^2}} = \sqrt {{7^2} + {{24}^2}} = \sqrt {49 + 576} \] since: \[{7^2} = 49,\quad {24^2} = 576\]

oh i got it. sorry
