Napoleon had many battle victories which rose his army ranks. He was a victorious general which led him to a political leader. His victory in Lodi, Italy is what began his successful rise to power. It was important because he reformed France and even crowned himself emperor of the French.

The government was important during the French Revolution because they funded the army by providing supplies. The biggest problem was that they kept spending more money than it was receiving by taxes. The government was basically important because the army and the nation's life depended on it.
