first solve the top part using the formula base x height (16 x 6) and then solve the bottom part using the formula of base x height again (8 x 7) then add those two solutions together and ignore the 14 on the side of the diagram because it is not needed for this

You have to find the area of both shapes. It looks like it's a combined shape, but you can see that two rectangles makes that odd shape. http://prntscr.com/67yfv5 Find the area of the blue part, then find the area of the pink part. After that, all you have to do is add the areas together. Remember that the area formula is LengthxWidth
