@marieislearning Don't just give out answers. @lame2222 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_World

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a fairly simple question bro, I figured it was common knowledge. @inowalst

OpenStudy (inowalst):

So? If it was so simple, they wouldn't have asked. So try reading the Code-of-Conduct. =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Vikings and Native Americans, Columbus didnt find it he thought it was a different place, he only took credit for what the Vikings and native Americans found first when they crossed over on a ice bridge before it melted. So to be honest this isn't a simple question not if you go back in history and look at the signs and evidence. Just thought i put my opinion out there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks mom @inowalst

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was the Vikings native Americas are native to this land lol that's why the are called native americans

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now the ppl who settled in America and was founded was columbus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's what we called them Native American, Indians, or Savages... they came over to this land via ice bridge before it melted like i said, Vikings by water many years latter, yeah your right @Micah1mcdugle, kinda wish we could get rid of columbus day all together... considering he didnt find it only settled here to make a home for himself and others

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You guys have to remember though that it was the Europeans who started calling this the New World. That is when it was differentiated as Europe as the Old World and the Americas as the New World. We have to think of the context of the question, overall everyone is technically right tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol thanks savages kinda hurt me considering we whole lot less savage but its cool ,old news

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats not what i was getting at im sorry @Micah1mcdugle considering im a native american as well. I didnt mean any harm by it, im sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooooooohhhhhhh I se what your saying but ya your right or actually everyone is right and your good my family is back in Louisiana any way and im not old school anyways im Sioux and caddo btw lol and no harm actually found it funny hadn't heard someone say that except in movies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SnowfallAngel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Micah1mcdugle yeah i know what you mean about only hearing it in movies but for me i hear it everyday my stepfather calls me that every chance he gets :/ he doesn't like "my kind" as he puts it but o'well... i just don't see how natives were savage they were really only protecting their families and culture from the "white men" but thats the past you can only look to improve the future ^_^
