I WILL fan and medal Circle the letter of the best SYNONYM in boldfaced type. To suffer from HYDROPHOBIA a. rabies b. fear of heights c. fear of cats d. fear of enclosure e. drought If you know the answer please explain it to me don't just give the answer because I am really confused and I don't think any of them make sense! I thought it might be drought but that isn't similar to hydrophobia it is the opposite which would make it an antonym, right???

@Love_Ranaa can you help me??

I did this in Vocabulary from Classical Roots. The answer is a. rabies because the book says people with rabies because Hydrophobia" was an old name for rabies, and is now just considered a symptom. Basically, the animal's throat muscles become partially paralyzed and they're unable to swallow/drink water. So many become neurotic at the sight of water, presumably because they want to drink but can't. This is also where the foaming at the mouth comes from... they can't swallow spit, so it just dribbles out and froths up.
