Maybe they're helping another person?  Or maybe they could be doing something?

Do you post "thanks" when a problem has been completed to your satisfaction?
Do you participate in the working of the problem by posting in the thread where the question is?

Do you award medals for quality work? 

Are you aware that the notification system on OS lags behind? You may tag somebody and that person may not get the message until 5 minutes later, if then.

Do you mass tag?  Speaking for myself, I do not respond to mass tags because I figure someone else in the mass tagging answered the call.

If the tagee has to refresh the screen (happens frequently here), then the notifications are wiped out. 

The tagee may be involved helping someone else.

Just saying why help may not be available.

I always show my question in the thread, I don't close a question without saying thank you and giving a medal, I don't mass tag. But I didn't know that it could take 5 minutes for a tag notification to come up.
