OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Democritus continued and basically made the atomic theory. Such as all atoms are indestructible, atoms are different in shape, size, mass, etc. John Dalton basically made the first model of an atom. It was really simple however and he believed every atom was the same for any element (later disproved) Aristotle made a extremely simple (and wrong) theory that the only 4 elements on earth are fire, air, water and earth. All matter is made up of these four elements and matter had four properties: hot, cold, dry and wet. James Chadwick discovered the neutron.
