ok lol this is my last question of the night lol i may stay on chat late but done with math! solve the system of equation by elimination 3x+4y=31 2x-4y=6 A. (4,5) B. (5,4) C. (-5, 12.5) D. (5,-4) help me out guys @Rhystic @surd

rishavraj (rishavraj):

add both equations....y gets eliminated....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

Nnesha (nnesha):

and you can replace x and y by their values into both equation if you get both side equal then that is your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so add both together and the y is eliminated so 3 +2 is 4 4 and 4 is 8 do i add 31 and 6?

OpenStudy (rhystic):

both rishav and nnesha are correct, but none of those solutions work....

OpenStudy (rhystic):

is it possible you typed either the equations or the answers in wrong? if not then you received a problem with incorrect answers. there is no correct answer listed there...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i will recheck it @Rhystic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i rechecked it the question and options are correct at least thats what it says. @Rhystic

Nnesha (nnesha):

are you sure ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its solve the equations by eliminations if i forgot to add that.

OpenStudy (rhystic):

no there are many ways to solve it but all will lead to the same answer. B comes close but the second equation needs to be 2x-4y=-6 to satisfy that. There are no correct solutions there unless I'm just really tired and not paying attention or something.

Nnesha (nnesha):

okay then start working on that then you can see ...
