Hello< I need some help with Algebra please? The area of the addition is (x^2 + 10x -200) ft^2. What is its length?
Is the addition a square?
Do you know the quadratic formula?
What about this:\[(x+a)(x+b)\]Can you do this?
To multiply polynomials: multiply each variable in one polynomial with every variable in the other polynomial.\[(\color{blue}x+a)(\color{blue}x+b)\\\color{blue}{x^2}\\(x+\color{red}a)(\color{red}x+b)\\\color{blue}{x^2}+\color{red}{ax}\\(\color{green}x+a)(x+\color{green}b)\\\color{blue}{x^2}+\color{red}{ax}+\color{green}{bx}\\(x+\color{purple}a)(x+\color{purple}b)\\\color{blue}{x^2}+\color{red}{ax}+\color{green}{bx}+\color{purple}{ab}\]
You can do this too:\[x^2+(a+b)x+ab\]which looks a lot like your question.
I have attached the picture of my question, Please
\[x=(-b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}}-4\times a \times c)\div 2\times a\] or this equation, where \[a=1\] \[b=10\] \[c=-200\] then you'll end up with,\[x=(-10\pm \sqrt{100-4\times1\times-200})\times2\] put this into your calculator and plug x into the equation you posted and sqrt the number you get
Thanks
