You can also think of it this way: 123.456 1=hundreds 2=tens 3=ones . (decimal place) 4=tenths 5=hundredths 6=thousandths

And you can see the rounding, below 5 - round down. 5 or above, round up. Because 2 is below 5, you round down, thus the 6.3
