How would I calculate the tension force of each of those two cables shown in the picture? The answer tells me it's gravity force times cos45 but where did the cos45 come from? Answer=5000*9.81*cos45

Anyway, i think mg is the weight of an object and it acts along downward.

Ur rope is connected with the object and tension acts along the rope. This rope makes an angle 45 degree with horizontal
