Joseph drives 125 miles in 2 1/2 hours. At the same rate, how far will he be able to travel in 6 hours? need help. best will get a medal and fan

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (adi3):

sup

OpenStudy (misty1212):

one way is to solve a proportion

OpenStudy (misty1212):

the move common sense way is to figure out the speed

OpenStudy (misty1212):

if you drive 125 in 2.5 hours, what is your speed?

OpenStudy (adi3):

50.... I suck in solving fractions

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

first you need to find the speed in `miles/hours`. if he drove 125 miles in 2, 1/2 hours (which is same as 125 miles in 5/2 hours) So how many miles in 1 hour would that be?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you said it was 50, which is correct. Now, knowing that he drives 50 miles per 1 hour, how much will he drive in 6 hours?

OpenStudy (adi3):

300 ;)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

yay

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

good!

OpenStudy (adi3):

finally... thnx guys i really appreciate you :)))

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Sure!

OpenStudy (adi3):

what is snells law

OpenStudy (adi3):

its physics
