OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Can someone please help me?

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Give me a second

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

It's lesson 3.08

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Here are the questions

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Please help me with all of them

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[p(0)=7\] since zero cups cost $7 that is the delivery charge

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

That's what I have for the first question. Is it right?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

yes

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Good! Now can you help me with the next parts?

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

I don't get what I'm doing in part B

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i wrote the answer to B above

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Oh ok

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

I understand that part now

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you did D when you found the function

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Ok.

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

How should I make my graph?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i don't know, that is up to you

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i can do one here in wolfram

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Ok please do so!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

as you expect it is a line with slope \(m=.037\) and \(y\) intercept \(7\) i made the domain from 0 to 3000 because that is what you had in the table

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Ok. Thank you!

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Now. The one that looks the hardest. Part E. Can you help with that?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

E is no harder than what you did in A, B, C and D in fact, it is easier because you do not have to find the rate of \(.037\) like you did in the first one, you are told it is \(.039\) and also you do not have to find the y intercept is \(7\) you are told it is \(3.5\)

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

ok

OpenStudy (misty1212):

so make up your new linear function, but this one has y intercept 3.5 and slope .039

OpenStudy (misty1212):

as for the picture, here is another from wolfram http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D7%2B.037x%2C+y%3D3.5%2B.039x+domain+0..3000

OpenStudy (misty1212):

and here is a bigger one

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Ok thanks

OpenStudy (misty1212):

as for finding where the lines intersect to finish the question, solve \[.037x+7=.039x+3.5\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

or better still solve \[37x+700=39x+350\]which is the same thing only your units are pennies, not dollars gets rid of the decimals

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

Ok..

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

I'm confused. Use the second one?

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):

@misty1212 what exactly is D?
