Please help medal Describe the water that is most likely to sink to the bottom of the ocean. A. warm, salty water B. warm water with no salt C. cold, salty water D. cold water with no salt

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

Study the concept of diffusion and osmosis. They both pertain to the flow of concentration gradient from high area to low area. Just as if heat thought as a gradient, then it will flow from hotter area to a cooler area.

huh

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

@nincompoop was referring to how certain particles, given certain circumstances, will flow to one area faster than others. Basically, do a bit of research (nin has given a pretty profound hint here)

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

even in an empty regular room: conventional thought is that hot air resides more on the upper area and the cold at the bottom area, although this may be the usual experiences we encounter, the principle proposed by Le Chatelier still applies (equilibrium) as observed in the case of diffusion and osmosis (a specialized diffusion, wherein water is treated as particles that moves [across membranes]).

which is the most dense
