Which statement best describes the relationship between DNA, mRNA, and amino acids? mRNA molecules are linked together by DNA to make different types of amino acids. DNA is transferred into an mRNA strand, which is translated into an amino acid sequence. mRNA is made up of amino acid segments to form a DNA complex. Amino acids are composed of DNA and are linked together to form an mRNA strand. @jagr2713 @ksuk3322
I actually had this question before on my science test! From Yahoo.com Well to start this off I have to explain what DNA, RNA, Amino acids, proteins and enzymes are. DNA:- DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the fundamental building block for an individual's entire genetic makeup. It is a component of virtually every cell in the human body, DNA can also be found in viruses but on the fundamental level that is a whole seperate topic dealing with microbiology so now moving on to RNA RNA:- Structurally similar to DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) this molecule plays an important role in producing protein from DNA blueprints. Messenger RNA is a ribonucleic acid that carries genetic information for protein synthesis in cells. ... Amino Acids, Proteins, Enzymes :- Amino acids play central roles both as building blocks of proteins and as intermediates in metabolism. Now to further to explain this Amino acids are building block that lead to making Proteins. Enzymes are a protein that catalyze and speed up processes Now that we have clarified the basic definitions of these subjects that you asked I can show you the main big picture, DNA holds genetic information what happens is it forms RNA which is a building block for Protein synthesis this is done through Transcription, So now we have DNA -- (Transcription)--> mRNA The mRNA which is Messenger RNA than performs (Translation) which make Amino acids and than Amino acids build up to form proteins. One of the most essential proteins are enzymes that speed up reactions that is a very basic definition of an Enzyme but never the less I am trying to connect this all into one process so conclusion DNA goes though Transcription giving RNA (mRNA) which goes through translation and the RIBOSOME utilizing the mRNA code forms or binds polypeptides to form amino acids that are building blocks to forming Proteins than you have an enzyme which is a type of protein that helps speed up reactions!
