OpenStudy (archtangent):

Is it true that vaccines can cause autism and whatnot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

..... I don't think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

False

OpenStudy (aaronq):

it is not true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Autism is caused by neurodevelopmental disorder by impaired social interaction, verbal & non-verbal communication & restricted & repetitive behavior.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The original scientist who reported those findings went back and said they were false. Some people still believe that they do cause problems, but there is no scientific evidence to support those claims.

OpenStudy (hhopke):

I have classmates whose parents won't vaccinate them because of this claim, but I have been vaccinated every flu season, every Strep Throat season, and every year where I need booster shots, and I don't have autism, neither does anybody I know who gets vaccines regularly. Autism is a condition in the brain, and I believe that it is present at birth, not something that is "caused" by outside factors (such as vaccinations)
