When an unbalanced force acts on an object, the object will be accelerated. The acceleration will vary directly with the unbalanced force applied and will be in the same direction as the applied force. can someone interpret this in a more simple way please?

Okay, so say you push with unbalanced force, a rock, it moves, it will go in the same direction the you applied unbalanced force to it. :)
