ok, well flash forward is used in literature, like books, media, and things like that. It's used to represent what may be expected or imagined in the future. For example, a character in a book has an exam coming up in a few weeks. One night he has a terrible dream and in it he fails the test miserably. The author would have used this to create a sense of expectation for the events in the future.

It takes the plot forward in time apart from the current time, setting, and place. Basically the opposite of a flashback.
