Lightning does not cause acid deposition. True or False

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True i think

Directrix (directrix):

False, I think. Natural sources like volcanoes, forest fires and lightning strikes also add to the man-made pollution. SO2 and NOx become acids when they enter the atmosphere and react with water vapor. http://science.howstuffworks.com/nature/climate-weather/atmospheric/acid-rain.htm @dopegyal_

Directrix (directrix):

The other chemical that is also chiefly responsible for the make-up of acid rain is nitrogen oxide. Natural processes such as bacterial action in soil, forest fires, volcanic action, and lightning make up five percent of nitrogen oxide emission. Transportation makes up 43 percent, and 32 percent belongs to industrial combustion. ["Acid Rain." The New World Book Encyclopedia. 1993.] https://sites.google.com/site/acidrain1project/
