What quadratic equations can be solved by the quadratic formula but not by factoring? Working on a test, I know the quadratic formula and all that. Just forgot what makes it un-factorable. Thanks for any help! :)

i guess you are supposed to say quadratics that are "prime" i.e. that are not factorable using integers

the question however is in error, you can factor any quadratic equation, once you know the zeros, or via completing the square
