A polygon is shown on a coordinate plane. If the polygon is translated 2 units down and 4 units left, what will the coordinates of the new image be? Use prime notation in expressing the new coordinates. @mathstudent55 @pounce0129 @TylerD

point A is at (1,5) shift it 2 units down to get to (1,3). notice how I subtracted 2 from the y coordinate then shift it 4 units left to get to (5,3). I added 4 to the x coordinate. This is the location of A' (read as "A prime") ------------------------------------------------------- So A is at (1,5) while A' is at (5,3)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you will do the same for B, C, D

im not sure about the rest.

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

take each coordinate subtract 4 from the first number and 2 from the second number

OpenStudy (misty1212):

for example one coordinate is \((1,5)\) subtract 4 from the first number, 2 from the second, get \((-3,3)\)
