which of these outcomes is conclusive evidence that mixing sugar in water is a physical change??? A). there is no change in color B).there is no precipitate formed C).there is no gas given off D).there is no molecular change
Which one do you think makes more sense for a physical change.
Physical Change A change in which a substance changes from one physical state to another but no substances with different composition are formed. Example Gas to Liquid Solid.
@crysttalmmm
Sugar and water is a physical change because there is "no change" in its identity. When water evaporates, the sugar crystals will still remain the same as sugar. Physical Change = No Change (in chemical components) & it can be turned back to its original substance. Chemical Change = Forms a new substance All answers are correct. I would like to add that chemical change can also have a color change. In this case, there is no color change. We know for sure that it is a physical property.
