[MEDAL & FAN] Are these two triangles similar? How do you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand they are similar but can someone give me why they are similar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

seems like they are same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a triangle has 180 degrees in total

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you anything about the sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I already know that a triangle equals 180 degrees. But if your saying they're equal. What makes them equal? why are they equal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know anything about the sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. thats all the info they gave me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix Please help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the reason why I asked it because ff an angle of one triangle is congruent to the corresponding angle of another triangle and the lengths of the sides including these angles are in proportion, the triangles are similar.

@TheSmartOne

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

http://prntscr.com/69bcy4 So you know vertical angles are equal :) Verticle angles are like |dw:1424801291401:dw|

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And another angle that would be congruent is |dw:1424801367069:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So both angles would be 42 degrees? @TheSmartOne sorry im not good with this

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):
