OS template is not good, but admins fear the pain of starting afresh.

When OS loads \(\LaTeX\) or when we type, we can see the loading stuff in the corner. This loading stuff in the corner also reveals more. The many ad stuffs slow the loading proccess.

The ads are the primary cause of lag.

It's easier to alter what you have than to create something entirely new. :p Ads are a pain and slow the site down but it's how OS creates some semblance of revenue to prevent it from requiring a subscription

i. Ads do not slow down a site unless there's a million of them
ii. Templates do not effect how you use the site. They're html-based documents that struggle to be over 100kb.

well... thats not the provblem at all... its latex goes through many files reaching the needed file.

Well, the memory load is pretty high. I would look at what parts of the pages end up needing that much RAM.
