OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can separate the rectangles in these two ways.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do you know about the area of a rectangle... A=BH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sissyedgar

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

Misty?

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

@misty1212 u still here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

shes gone, but you need to designate values to the split up figure, how do you think you would do that.

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

yea.. tht sounds confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright lemme break it down for yah|dw:1424821746486:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you know your dimensions of the little square already.. now to think about the big one. so youre given 7in from the left edge to the intersection of the 4 inch line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the base of the little square is from the intersection of that line to the end, so the length of the base for the big rectangle would be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this would be the 7in plus the remaining length which is a given value

OpenStudy (sissyedgar):

@bohotness

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

let me upload it, I will label some things on it... and will do my best to help you out. But as it is now, are you confident that you can find the area of the square ?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I got it done, took me long, I know... sorry

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

if you are able to open it up (hopefully), the you can find the area of each rectangle, and all them 2 up.
