A food pyramid is sometimes used to show both the flow of matter and energy in an ecosystem. The pyramid narrows as matter and energy flow from the bottom to the top. What does this pyramid tell you about the energy in this ecosystem? A) Energy stays the same. Only the number of living things change. B) Energy decreases from bottom to top because 90% of the energy is lost. C) Energy increases from bottom to top because the organisms get larger in size. D) Energy decreases from bottom to top because some is used at each level for life processes. Picture: http://www.usatestprep.com/modules/gallery/files/3/335/335.jpg @confluxepic
I am not sure on this one.
What do you think?
This is actually the last one. Yay!
@confluxepic
I did the same question today.
Lol
I think it is A
Is it A?
@confluxepic
I'm not sure.
@BlossomCake Do you have an opinion.
I think A is wrong. Energy cannot stay the same.
I'm not sure...
True
Energy is always transferred.
I'm very confused
I think that it is C or D
right?
Yes. I agree with D but not C.
B could also be correct.
Let me see if there is anyone who can help us.
Abhi's on. The master of biology.
@Abhisar
Ok
Energy is transferred from one level to another and in this process only 10% of the energy from one level is transferred to the next one. Due to this the energy is always higher in the bottom level while lowest in the upper level. Autographs have maximum amount of energy while higher consumers have least.
@HappySprout Read the first line carefully.
*Autographs = Autotrophs
Oh! So it is B right?
@confluxepic am I right?
I would say so.
Yay! That was the last one! I got to go see you later!
Ok.
