Mike bought 7 tickets for the baseball game. Each ticket cost $8. He gave the cashier a $100 bill. How much change would Mike get? A. Add $8 + 7. Then subtract the sum from $100. B. Multiply $100 × 7. Then add $8 to the product. C. Divide $100 ÷ 7. Then add 8 to the quotient. D. Multiply 7 × $8. Then subtract the product from $100.
Which do you think?
A
No..we want to multiply the price per ticket to the number of tickets, then we subtract that from the money he gave the cashier.
Ok, its just a simple word problem. If mike bout 7 tickets and each of the tickets cost 8 dollars. How much was the total. Good way of seeing this is add 8 to it's self 7 times. So, 8+8+8+8+8+8+8+8
*bought
*it's *Mike *bought *total? *it
>:P
Then he gave the cashier 100 dollars. So add +8+8+8+8+8+8+8 Simple form is 8\(*\)7 and then subtract 100 and you should have the answer. Then put it in the correct order and you will have the answer. :)
