OpenStudy (anonymous):

4cm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain it please? @IQ250

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because the angle is 35 and that is 12cm of the 90 degress we can subtract the poliosis. That will give us 2 and you square it for 4 :)

OpenStudy (bibby):

or you could use trig relationships tan = opp/adj

@bibby @IQ250 can either of you help with the one above? if you dont mind of course

OpenStudy (bibby):

assuming the lines are parallel|dw:1424885891396:dw| then find a trig relationship that relates 500 and x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be tan(10)=x/500? @bibby

OpenStudy (bibby):

soh cah toa |dw:1424886067252:dw| let's analyze what we have. as always the side opposite the right angle it the hypotenuse, so we're working with either sine or cosine. the 500 is opposite the 10 degree angle sin(10)=500/x
