What is the solution of this system of equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 3x + 5 y = -x + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2.1, 11.3) (-2.1, 5.1) (-0.5, 3.5) (0.5, 2.5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-0.5, 3.5)

Can you explain?

Various techniques. Easiest is to plot both on a grid, either by hand or technology. I'd suggest desmos. Basically where they intersect is where both equations are set true in y = y Or basically 1 = 1; this is true. You could, also, solve it by using either the elimination or substitution method.
